Here at Nylex, we have made the commitment to redesign our on-pack communication to incorporate the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) Program. This update to our packing will help our consumers better understand the true recyclability of all packaging components to be disposed of after purchasing our products.
The ARL has been endorsed by all Australian state governments to help make recycling easier and more accessible for consumers. Led by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) in partnership with Planet Ark and PREP Design, the Australasian Recycling Label Program aims to significantly reduce consumer confusion, increase recycling recovery rates and contribute to cleaner recycling streams across the board.
Recycling and clean energy manufacturing is recognised as a National Manufacturing Priority in the Government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy. The priorities, which reflect Australia’s identified ‘areas of competitive advantage’ and emerging areas of priority, are the focus of federal government budget funding, reforms and policies in the years ahead. The funding is aimed at stopping ‘more than 600,000 tonnes of waste ending up in landfill’ and by doing so, is estimated to assist in ‘creat[ing] a further 10,000 jobs’. *
The new Nylex labelling provides Australians with easy-to-understand recycling information and easier for you to put the right packaging in the right bin, saving time and reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.
We are proud to be part of this national initiative and will continue to make strides in the right direction to better educate our consumers on the true recyclability of our packaging materials.
